Apple has added a new workout setting to its 'Apple Watch Ultra' that will reduce the GPS and heart rate readings to extend battery life to an estimated 60 hours. With this update, Apple Watch can now last longer on a single charge.

According to the report, to extend battery life, Apple introduced a 'Low Power Mode' setting in watchOS 9, which limits or disables certain features to last for around 14-15 hours during workouts. To get the 60-hour estimate, users need to enable both the 'Low Power Mode' and the 'Low GPS and Heart Rate Reading' setting.

The new setting can be enabled by updating to watchOS9.1. To enable it, go to Settings, then Workout and click on Low GPS and Heart Rate Readings. Similar to Low Power Mode, watchOS 9 watches can also be used with this setting.

'Low Power Mode' always turns off the display, background heart rate and blood oxygen measurement, and heart rate notifications. By doing so, other notifications may be delayed, emergency alerts may not come, and some cellular and Wi-Fi connections may be limited.

However, for even more battery life while walking, running and hiking, turn on 'Low Power Mode' and then enable 'Low GPS and Heart Rate Reading'. This will reduce the frequency of GPS and heart rate readings and turn off alerts, split and segment
